Every year, Cannes serves as the epicenter of the film industry, attracting over 14,000 professionals and showcasing nearly 4,000 films and projects in development. WIFT Australia aims to propel its members into the international spotlight, fostering connections, securing deals, and accelerating their careers.

What will you win?
The top pitches deemed ready for the international market will earn the coveted prize of flights, accommodation, food and registration to the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
WIFT Australia will also help guide you through the 2024 Cannes Film Market and support you with a PR Specialist to make the most of your experience.

What do you need to prepare?

  1. A 3-minute video talking us through your pitch deck.
    Step 1. Intro yourself to camera
    Step 2. Talk us through your pitch using visual aids (e.g. pitch deck)

This video needs to be submitted via a password protected Vimeo link (Vimeo links only, no YouTube). 

2. Any other supporting documentation - e.g. the Pitch Deck, your bio, any relevant website, press kit.


HOW DO I ENTER? 

Step 1: Complete the registration form by Midnight Monday 8th April (in your time zone). 

This only requires name, email and WIFT Australia membership number. 

Step 2: Once you have registered you will be sent the Pitching Form to complete. 

COMPLETE THE PITCHING FORM BY MIDNIGHT (your time zone) WED 10th APRIL. 

To complete this form you will need:
- Your 3 minute pitch video link and password
- Your personal information
- Links to any supporting documentation


Step 3: Winners will be notified after Tuesday 16th April.


Need help up-skilling your pitching?

To help assist in your pitching skills WIFT Australia is running a Pitching Skills Workshop on Wed 3 April - $40 for Members Only.

“Life’s a Pitch - Then You Buy” with Mandy Lake from FlickChicks. 

This comprehensive online workshop will equip you with the tools and techniques to craft compelling pitches tailored for the global market. Participants will delve into strategies for engaging audiences, navigating industry trends, and establishing crucial connections.

Note you do not need to attend this workshop to enter.


Terms & Conditions

  • All participants must be WIFT Australia Members.

  • Registration is free.

    If you win there will be costs involved with traveling to Cannes. You will be responsible for paying for your own food and other spending and incidentals. The monetary value of the prize only covers flights, accommodation and registration to 2024 Cannes Film Festival and Market.

  • If you win you will receive:

    Economy flights to and from Australia to Cannes.

    Some food will be included.
    Accommodation in a share house.
    Registration to the 2024 Cannes International Film Festival and Market.
    Access to PR support and photographer for your event.
    In person support from WIFT Australia Board members who will travel with you and help you navigate the Festival.

  • If you win your obligations include:
    Have a developed pitch ready for an international market.
    You must set up and meet with 4-6 creative or strategic partners while at Cannes.
    You must attend the WIFT International event at Cannes.
    You must attend Cannes Festival events and talks (not just screenings) including networking events.
    You must create a log / report of your activities at Cannes listing the events and meetings you attend.

  • You must be willing and available to travel to Cannes, France between 11th and 28th May.

    You must a valid passport with over 3 months left from the date of travel.

    You must be willing to stay in a large share house with other winners and members of WIFT Australia.
