Women In Film & Television (WIFT) Australia will be taking Raising Films Australia’s latest initiative, the “Making It Possible” Program to Adelaide in November 2019. The program is a free one-day course with follow-up mentorship, for women in the screen industry whose careers have been impacted due to parenting and caring responsibilities. The Adelaide course is delivered in partnership with Creative Plus Business and supported by funding from the South Australian Film Corporation.
The course will provide a holistic approach to personal, career and creative advice, mentorship and education while providing access to a free creche on the day. Expressions of interest to take up one of the 12 places per session will be open to SA-based screen industry practitioners who identify as female, are aged over 18, and who have had a demonstrated “time out” from or had their career impacted due to the consequence of parenting or caring responsibilities.
The one-day course will be held at the Iris Cinema (part of The Mercury Cinema) in Adelaide on Wednesday 27 November 2019, with expressions of interest now open for this session. Applications close Wednesday 30 October 2019.
Raising Films Australia is based on a UK model that is dedicated to supporting and advocating for parents and carers in the screen industry and the “Making It Possible” Program is based on Raising Films UK’s course held in 2017.
